General Questions

Do you have a restaurant?
No, we are currently only serving breakfast to our guests. Our pub is open on Wednesday evenings, please check our Facebook page for more information.
Are there restaurants nearby?
Yes, there are plenty of options within a 20-minute drive either east to Brattleboro or west to Wilmington. Click here for a full list with open hours and other helpful information.
Are children allowed?
Yes, we love kids! But we do ask that they be supervised at all times. Running inside is not allowed, and please keep any excessive noise (especially after 9:00pm) to a minimum. Many guests come to rural B&B’s for a quiet, relaxing time – so we ask that parents with children be considerate of our other guests. And we ask our other guests to remember that children are unpredictable and to please be patient while we take care of noise issues or other disruptions. We want everyone to feel welcome and relaxed.
Can I rent the entire property?
Of course! But please be aware that we do not operate as an “AirBnB” – meaning that you will still be treated to breakfast each morning, and we will be here to assist you throughout your stay. The kitchen is not available for use except during pre-arranged events and by a food-service professional.
Do you have WiFi?
We sure do! Wifi is available throughout the entire Inn, including the guest rooms. And it’s FREE.
Are you pet friendly?
Some of our guest rooms are pet friendly. You must inform us in advance if you will be bringing your furry friend, and there is a $25 pet fee. The rules: 1. any unattended pet must be crated; 2. you are responsible for any damage done by your pet (we will inspect the room with you upon arrival); 3. pets are not allowed in the dining room (we have another dining area for pets and their owners); and 4. all pets must be on leash when not in the guest room. It is tempting to allow the pup to run free on the property, but our country road is dangerous for them, and there are many critters here who would not be very nice to a domesticated animal (think coyotes. And bears.)
Do you allow smoking?
No. No open flames or smoking materials of any kind (including e-cigarettes) are allowed in or within 25 feet of any building on the property. We do have a smoker’s pole that we can put in the driveway if needed. You will be immediately asked to leave (with no refund) if you are caught smoking in the guest rooms. Our detectors are very sensitive.
Can we bring our own food / alcohol?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own snacks and alcoholic beverages to enjoy here at the inn. Because we are a licensed facility ALL ALCOHOL not purchased from us (at the bar) MUST BE CONSUMED IN GUEST ROOMS. I’m done shouting. This is a rule we cannot break as it would result in the loss of our license. So please do us a solid and keep your booze in your room.
What is there to do in the area?
This area is full of things to do of all kinds! Click here for a list of options for site-seeing, hiking, skiing, and more.

Staying at the B&B

When is check-in?
Check-in time is from 3:00 – 6:00pm. If you need to arrange an early (based on availability) or late check-in, please call us at your earliest convenience.
What if I'm late (or early)?
If you happen to arrive early, we will allow you to check in if your room is available. Even if you cannot check-in upon arrival, we are happy to hold your luggage and move it to your room when it is ready. If you experience an unexpected delay, we ask that you call us as soon as possible with an updated arrival time. We do have to get up very early each morning, so if you arrive at a late hour we will leave instructions for you on the front desk.
What amenities are available?
We have a (large) television in the public area, and a refrigerator and microwave for guest use on the second floor. In the summer, each room has an individual air conditioning unit. There are extra pillows and blankets in each room and we offer Gilchrist and Soames bath amenities in addition to bottled water. Ice is available by request.
What time is breakfast?
Breakfast usually begins at 7:30 am with homemade pastries, fruit, and other light items. Full cooked breakfast is from 8:30 – 9:30. We are happy to make special arrangements can be made for an earlier or later breakfast with advance notice. In ski season, full breakfast often begins between 7:00 and 7:30 am. Coffee is out as early as Victoria wakes up 🙂
What if I have dietary restrictions / allergies?
During check-in, we will ask you about any dietary preferences, restrictions, or allergies, and will always do our best to accommodate our guests’ needs. Please know that we do cook with all kinds of food (including nuts) using the kitchen and equipment, and there is no guarantee that your experience will be 100% allergen-free, kosher, halal, or vegan.
Can I bring a friend who is not staying at the inn for breakfast?
Yes! The more the merrier. There is a small surcharge for each extra guest – and we REALLY appreciate advance notice so we are sure to have enough bacon 🙂
Will I have to share a bathroom?
No. All of our rooms have private baths, and all are en-suite except Room #10 which has a private bathroom across the hall.
Is there a shuttle to town or to the mountain for skiing?
The short answer is yes, but it picks up and drops off along Route 9 – which is relatively busy with traffic and not always welcoming for foot traffic (especially in the winter). If you need transportation to and from town or the mountain, please call us and we will help with the arrangements.

Weddings

What is included in your wedding package?
Lots! Tables and chairs and linens and more! Click here to see the whole package.
What other services are available?
We offer catering for 50 or fewer people, rehearsal dinner packages, bar packages, lawn games, fire pit, s’mores … and we love a challenge! Do you have something special in mind? Let us help you make it a reality.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. All alcohol consumed in the public areas of the property must be purchased from and served by our staff. There are no exceptions. You are allowed to consume your own alcohol in your rooms, but please know that we do monitor drinking quite closely as it is a matter of our license and livelihood.
Do you have preferred vendors?
We have a list of vendors we love, but you are welcome to use your own caterer, etc.
Do you allow candles / fireworks / sparklers?
No. We do not allow open flames in any building on the property, and only tended fires in our fire pit are allowed on the grounds.
Do we have to rent all of the rooms?
No. But if your party does not reserve all the rooms, we have the right to sell them to guests who are not with your party.
Yes. Town ordinance requires that all amplified music in the barn be turned off no later than 10:30pm. If your party has reserved the entire inn (and you have enough energy), it is possible to have an “after party.” inside that can go until 2:00am. Ask us for more details!
